Artis purchased North City Centre, a retail development with excess land potential for future development in 2007. North City Centre is a three-building retail development constructed in 1984 and substantially redeveloped in 2004 to accommodate three big-box retailers. The centre has 556 parking stalls to provide for a ratio of 5.42 stalls per 1,000 square feet of leasable area. A free standing building comprising 3,500 square feet of leasable area was constructed in 2009. North City Centre has frontage onto 137th Avenue, a major Edmonton artery with high traffic volumes. North City Centre comprises 108,720 square feet of leasable space. Key tenants include Old Navy, JYSK, Staples, and Scotiabank.
In 2011, Artis completed development of a 19,094 square foot two-story office building on the site.
